Kore

Eternal summer and    soul-searching for more,
The child of a goddess    already chosen
The fields of flowers    waving in the wind with
Buds of boredom    between the cool colors,
Pale lilies that display    their petals shyly
Her dress drags on    grass and green
As she finds and picks the    prettiest flowers,
Sighs, wonders what    might be missing
She sees the sun is    searing dry the flowers,
Girlfriends frolicking    seem frivolous
Nothing in sight but    acres in summer
And young voices    young virtue in bloom
But now - the darkening earth
A tectonic shift,    a teeming and tearing of stone
Then freedom revealing fire -    the flowering Trees
shed petals,    but the pretty she
Was suddenly surrounded,    in a sunrise of sorts
Afraid, alone, at    agonizing crossroads
The very violence of    fire and flame
An answer to the search,    the start a something more
She goes down    into god's rich realm
Leaving the summer    lilies to the sun

Silence now, as flowers    fall to silt
Alone in autumn,    a woman begins to wail
